Space Odyssey

The symbolism of the video and words refer to M.I.A's feelings after a New York Time's article was published naming Sri Lanka the top choice tourist destination for 2010. The Tamal-rapper expressed via twitter her outrage at The Times for calling the war torn country scenic as the remanence of the land's conflict continue. The visual: a simple silhouette of M.I.A. draped in lazer-like constellations changing form. She's giving us collideascope and content. Dig it.

Johnny Voltik, "Cha-NTU-Cha"

Return To Planet Rock
Photobucket
So excited for this new project from Brooklynite, by way of Boston artist, Johnny Voltik. On the eve of Johnny's soon to be released LP The Red Album, he offers up a free instrumental album of sonic tunes and spacey concepts. The album features song titles like Ghost of Aaliyah, Lichiban, Chi Tai, and Cha-NTU-Cha; inspired by a great conversation had over buttery french-toast. Voltik takes daily inspiration and applies it to this voyage into sound. Of course, as the song title indicates, artist and soul-sista Lichiban contributes as visual director of the project. You can also check visuals of Voltik taken by King Texas and the rest of this FREE instrumental album on his site JohnnyVoltik
